Overview
In a pioneering initiative at Dickinson Public Transit, I spearheaded the completion of the ITS Systems Engineering Checklist - a supplementary required document for the SFN 60212 - [NDDOT ITS PROJECT/ARCHITECTURE CHECKLIST SYSTEMS ENGINEERING COMPLIANCE] Form. The completion and acceptance of these documents was a requirement for transit agencies seeking funding for Transit Management Software.
Process and Challenges
Upon this SFN 60212's introduction, I was entrusted with its completion due to its complexity and the unfamiliarity it presented to the executive team. With no prior experience in Systems Engineering, and a tight dealine of three weeks, I immersed myself in the study of relevant literature in order to gather the relevant knowledge related to Systems Engineering.
Conclusion and Impact
This project not only secured substantial funding for our agency, but also set a new standard for future submissions across the State of North Dakota (as stated by an NDDOT official.) This achievement not only shows my ability to take on daunting challenges, but also showcases my ability to set new benchmarks within any organization.
